Crane Park 26/6/25
LNPN members who did not make the LNPN field trip to Crane Park last Thursday missed a real treat.
It was 2.00pm on a bright sunny afternoon when a small group of members gathered at the entrance
to the Park, formerly an 19 th Century industrial estate, but now a beautiful nature reserve slap bang
in the middle of the west London suburb of Whitton. Lots of wild flower clearings and woodland
margins with butterflies, beetles, Hover Flies and bees, a busy river with margins of wildflowers and
several wetland patches with dragonflies and damselflies aplenty to occupy them and their long and
macro lenses. Sadly, the café close at 4.00pm, so there was no chance for a drink and rest before
setting off home. But other than that, an excellent field trip.
