When you open these apps you get the choice of a 7 day trial then a yearly fee or if you want free access
in the top right corner you will find CANCEL written (very dim) click on that and the app is free to use.
You just have to do it everytime you open it.
Merlin Bird ID
Merlin will identify birds by both image and sounds, added bonus it is FREE
ObsIdentify. A smartphone app that you can submit images to with immediate results and a percentage of chance of accuracy.
