Trip Report

Report for WWT Arundel

ARUNDEL NPNUK 7 March 2026

Fifteen members joined this field trip to Arundel WWT.

Although there was not a lot of blue sky, the weather stayed dry and fairly mild for this time of year and we all enjoyed a variety of species.

In particular, a few members saw and photographed a large number of snipe at the edge of one of the lakes, scurrying around the undergrowth. We also had views of great white egret, cattle egret and little egret! The first two seen side by side was a first for me.

In the woodland near the feeders we saw a marsh tit, amongst the usual species of blue tits, great tits, long tailed tits, chaffinches, robins... Lots of robins!

We also enjoyed seeing so many exotic species in the wildfowl collection.

An entertaining time was had by all  watching the Dalmatian pelicans whilst they were being fed.

We shall repeat this field trip to Arundel in the Summer, at the request of some members. We put a date of August 8th in the calendar for that, so hope to see some of you there in a few months.
